Configurations for Inspera Recorded, Record & Review, and Live Proctoring

Information: This article is applicable for authorized persons to request tenancy-level configurations. Creating tests with these proctoring solutions carries additional charges, so please contact your Account Manager in the first instance.

These configurations are essential for setting up Inspera Recorded, Record & Review, and Live Proctoring within a tenant, as they determine the behaviour of the proctoring solution. You will have the opportunity to customise the tenant-level configurations as part of the initial setup process for proctoring.

Acceptable forms of ID

Only relevant if it’s Inspera Live proctors.

Default - Driving License, Passport, Student ID

Option - Customers can delete any form of ID from the list above. They can add additional forms of ID but will have to supply copies to Inspera well in advance of their first exam

No show time and last entry time

Only relevant if it’s Inspera Live proctors.

Default - 10 minutes

The number of minutes after an exam starts after which the Inspera proctor will mark a candidate as absent and prevent them from starting the exam.

Option - can be varied to a maximum of 20 minutes

Does the proctor have to approve ID before a candidate can start an exam?

All live proctoring users

Default - Yes.

The candidate must wait to be approved, even if this means the exam time has started. Candidates can log in up to 30 minutes before an exam starts but if say all of them assigned to a proctor arrive 5 minutes before the start, one or more may be waiting until after the exam begins before they can

Option - No

Once an exam starts, the candidate can begin. Their ID will be checked by the proctor towards the beginning of the session

ProView users

This is only relevant to customers who have selected self-proctored live proctoring

Default - None

Option - Provide a list of names and email addresses. Note, you must do this even if you have selected self-proctored live proctoring or your proctors will not have access to the relevant platform to make this work. Customers will receive an activation email that must be used within 24 hours of it being sent

Default: Customers can choose between 1:4 and 1:8 at a test level.

No other ratios are available.

Minimum booking requirement for live proctoring

All live proctoring users

Default: 7 days

No other options are available. This includes customer own proctors. An exam must be set up at least 7 days in advance

Onboarding / Offboarding time

All live proctoring users

 

Default: 30 minutes for each

Onboarding: Candidates can start the onboarding steps up to 30 minutes before the exam.

Offboarding: Proctors are available for up to 30 minutes after the scheduled exam end time to account for unexpected events

No other options are available.

 

 

Non-configurable options

All other elements of the proctoring solution, including those related to the proctoring flags, or onboarding/offboarding buffer time, are non-configurable.

Certain settings, such as the proctoring ratio and instructions for proctors are configurable at a test level. For further information on these test-level options, see the article 'How to create a test with proctoring'.
