Enable Candidate report

  • Updated

This is available for Planners.

The Candidate Report in Marking 2.0 enables you to provide richer feedback to candidates after a test. Candidate reports will be generated after grading, and candidates can log back into Inspera Assessment to view their grades, marks, and comments from Graders.

This article will go over how to enable Candidate reports and configure the information within the Candidate report.

This feature requires activation. Please contact the Service Desk to activate it for your Inspera Assessment tenancy.

Enable Candidate report

  1. In the Deliver module, start by creating your test.
  2. Under Options in the test settings, navigate to the General settings section.
  3. First select Enable Marking 2.0 on this test.
  4. Then select Enable Candidate Report.
  5. Click the Date and Time field to schedule when the Candidate report is available to candidates.

Configure Candidate report

You can customize the content of the Candidate report by altering the options in the After test settings. In the test settings under Options, navigate to the After test settings.

For more information on the After test settings, see the article After Test Section.

Here is an overview of the available options for the post-submission review, feedback, marks and comments in the After test settings.

  • Select Allow candidate post-submission review to enable the post submission review. This feature allows the candidate to review their submission after they have submitted.

Once it's enabled, the Planner will be able to decide when the candidate can review the submission, and what type of information they can review.

    When candidates can review

The submission can be available to be reviewed by the candidate immediately after the test is submitted (Instant post delivery access) or within a specific date range (Availability from/to).

    What candidates can review

    The Planner has three options:

    • Questions and answers excluding marks: the candidate will only be able to have access to the questions and their own answers, as well as the summary page. This is selected by default
    • Questions with correct answers and marks: the candidate will be able to see the questions, their answers, the correct answers (for most automatically marked questions) and the marks they obtained from each question.
    • Marks only on summary page: the candidate will not be able to see their submission, only the summary page with the question title, type and status and the marks obtained.

Post-submission review and Share comments must be enabled together for the candidate to be able to see the comments together with the question text and their answer to the question.

  • Select Include general feedback per question/Include Feedback on alternatives to enable General feedback in the Candidate report.

General feedback displays underneath the Comments overview and allows candidates to view comments and feedback made by Graders during the marking process.

  • Select Show achieved marks per person to enable the Marks overview in the Candidate report. This allows candidates to view their total marks and marks per question.

    • Select Display conflicts to allow candidates to see individual marks from each grader.
    • or select Hide conflicts to display an average score from graders.

Note: Make sure to keep question names unique and visible in the test design settings, in order for the candidates to easily identify what questions were given which marks. This is especially important if the questions have been presented to the candidates in a random order during the test, as the order of the questions in the candidate report is the same as the Author view.

  • Select Shared with candidate under Share comments and correct answers with candidate to enable Comment overview in the Candidate report. This allows candidates to view comments and feedback made by Graders with the Annotation tool during the marking process.

Or select Not shared if you do not want comments to be shared with the candidate.

If the setting Post-submission review is not activated in the test settings, the link View in submission will not be visible to the candidates. This lets the candidates see the comments from the Graders without being able to view the question text and their answer to the question.
