Ouriginal, previously called Urkund, is a an anti-plagiarism tool that provides similarity reports for submitted files. The users that already use this system can use the integration that Inspera offers. You can request similarity reports to all the questions submitted by the candidates (the supported types) or directly within the Inspera's grading tool. If you do not currently use an anti-plagiarism tool, Inspera offers Inspera Originality.

This article provides you with information on the Ouriginal integration, along with a step-by-step tutorial on activating it within your test. 

Similarity reports are available for the following Manually marked question types:

• Essay
• Upload Assignment

The screenshots are from Marking 2.0, but because it is the plagiarism report that contains the information you need, the method is the same for both classic marking and Marking 2.0.

How to request a similarity report as a planner

As the Planner of a test, you can request for similarity reports to be generated for all candidate submissions on a test. This is done in the preparation phase, and the reports will be ready for the grader(s) once they start grading. 

1. Set up a test in the Deliver module.

2. Under Options > Security, select Request Similarity report. 

   

3. Finish creating the test with your desired settings. 

How to request a similarity report as a Grader

If the Planner does not request a similarity report in the test settings, no reports will be available when opening the Similarity tab. 

To request a similarity Report:

1. Select the Marking workspace.
2. In the Marking menu, select the Similarity tab.
3. Click Request report.

View similarity reports 

You can view similarity report scores within the Overview and Marking workspace.

1. Once the test is closed, select the Overview workspace.
2. Click a score underneath the Similarity column to view an individual candidate's similarity report.

In the marking tool, you can view the data for the submitted document. The file name contains the User ID, Test ID and the Question ID. These numbers match the ones found in the current URL address.

The file name will look similar to this:

You can find the UserID, TestID and QuestionID that this submission was matched against.

After you have found the match, you can use the numbers from the UserID or TestID to search for the match in Monitor.

If the user doing the search can't find any match on TestID or UserID this user must contact an extended access user.

After selecting the candidate in Monitor you can jump straight to View submission (or Marking) from the pop-up menu to see the matching candidates submission.

If this candidate has submitted multiple questions you will need to look through the test to find the matching question. The questionID is available in the URL.
