-
-
(1) Choose from four types of alternatives: Text (plain text), LaTeX, images and sound. You cannot combine the different types within one interaction element.
You can format plain text by clicking on Rich text, available under each option. LaTeX is accepted as input when you click on the Sigma button. The options in the previous example are written in rich text. To change text alternatives written in rich text, click on Edit rich text.
Images as alternatives will automatically scale to a width of 150 pixels, but you can manually resize them.
You add sound files by clicking on Add sound file (mp3). Complete the option by adding text.

You can set upper and lower mark limits, and also choose how to display the order of the alternatives to candidates.
- Lower and upper mark limit: You can set these for each interaction element. The value will override the mark settings set for the whole question. For more information, refer to the Advanced scoring article.
- Random order of alternatives: Choose whether candidates should have a different order of alternatives. This option is selected by default. If you prefer the system not to select it by default, please reach out to our service desk.
- Limit maximum selections: Prevents the candidate from selecting more answers than what is defined as correct. For example, if two alternatives are correct, the candidate can only select two alternatives.
