Integration settings

  • Updated

For the integration between Inspera Originality and Inspera Assessment, you can configure Originality settings directly within the Inspera Assessment interface. These settings determine how the tool analyzes submissions for originality and are divided into two categories: Assignment Level Settings and Additional Settings.

The available settings for Inspera Originality within the Integration with Inspera Assessment apply only to Essay and File Upload question types.

1. Assignment Level Settings

  • Translation Similarity: Users can enable the translation similarity capability and select a maximum of 3 languages for this analysis. To make this setting available for your account please reach out to our service desk.
    • When creating a template, this setting is always off in the template
    • When creating an assignment from a template or applying a template to an assignment, this setting will always be disabled. It can then be enabled by the Planner.
  • Contextual Similarity: Users can enable the contextual similarity analysis and define a percentage threshold for the analysis based on their needs.
  • AI Authorship Prediction: Users can enable the AI authorship prediction feature to determine the likelihood of text potentially generated by AI. To make this setting available for your account please reach out to our service desk.

2. Additional Settings

  • Exclude Citations: Enable to exclude properly cited text from the Originality Report, redirecting focus to potential originality issues.
  • Excluded Source Criteria: Define the percentage at which matching sources are not included in the Originality Report. E.g., setting the excluded source criteria at 5% will actively exclude source between 5% and lower from the Originality Report.
  • Include URLs: Specify sources to check against for potential originality issues.
  • Exclude URLs: Specify sources not to check against for potential originality issues.
  • Archive Document: Enable the Archive Document option to save the document in the internal repository for future collusion-checking. To make this setting available for your account please reach out to our service desk.
  • Share Originality Report with Candidates: This option defines if and when the Originality Report is shared with the corresponding candidates. If it's unchecked the reports will not be shared. If it's checked, it's possible to define when it will be shared. You can also define when the report should be shared. For more information, please check our page on Originality Report Sharing.

The reports can only be shared if the Candidate Report is enabled. The candidates will see the report in view mode. This setting can be modified at any moment: before/after activation, before/after marking as long as the originality report was requested before activating the test.
