The DDT Custom User Role (CUR) offers a way to permit a user to access the newly introduced data sources - Submissions, CTT - Assessment Stats, CTT - Item Stats and CTT - Test Taker Stats.
| Note: A user who needs to view CTT or submissions data for a test must also be added as an Author to the Item Bank used to create the test. If the user is not a member of an Access Group that is added to the Item Bank, they will not be able to view test data even if they have the required DDT CUR. |
Create a DDT CUR
Under settings, select Custom user roles. You require the Administrator user role to access this setting.
Within the CUR dashboard click the Create New button. This opens the Edit custom user role screen with the Details tab.
Under Details, give your DDT CUR a name and description. The role ID is auto-generated. In its current state, it is in Draft.
The Settings tab is where you will choose the permissions that make up this Custom User Role. Firstly, from the dropdown in the DDT section, select the Enabled option.
The permissions inside the DDT section are mapped to data sources provided to your tenant, namely:
The Per-test metrics permission enables the user to view the CTT data sources (CTT - Assessment Stats, CTT - Item Stats and CTT - Test Taker Stats).
The Submissions permission enables the user to view the data of submissions made by test takers.
Apart from the 2 permissions above, the Admin permission acts as a parent permission. Selecting the Admin permission automatically selects all available permissions (Per-test metrics and Submissions in the example above).
Thus, when a DDT CUR that has the Admin permission selected is assigned to a user, they will be allowed to access all data sources provided to your tenant.
Edit a DDT CUR
To edit an existing DDT CUR, simply click on the CUR, re-open the Details or Settings tab, make your required changes and click on Close (top right of the screen). You can make edits even if the CUR is still in a published state.
Alternatively you can unpublish the CUR before making edits, by using the button at the top right of the screen. While published, any changes you make take effect immediately.
Delete a DDT CUR
Note: Before deleting a CUR, first consider whether simply unpublishing it would be sufficient (see section above).
To delete a CUR, select the checkbox next to the relevant CUR and click 'Delete' in the bottom action panel. You will be asked to confirm the action before proceeding.
Assign a DDT CUR
Any published CUR will show within the 'User roles' list on the user profile. You can assign a user this CUR by ticking the checkbox for that CUR and saving the changes. This works in the same way as assigning any other user role, as described in the relevant Help Center article.
