Candidate dashboard in Assessment Path

  • Updated

The Assessment Path Candidate dashboard is the central hub where candidates view and interact with their grouped assessments.

This article explains how to configure Single or Grouped display modes, outlines what information candidates see at each stage of the test, and details browser compatibility with IIB and SEB.

Single or grouped display

Within Assessment Path, you can choose between a Single or Grouped view for the Candidate dashboard display.

  • In this mode, individual tests that are part of the Assessment Path are displayed as separate items on the Candidate dashboard. Only tests that are active and ready for you to take will be visible.

  • In this mode, all tests that you are assigned to within the Assessment Path are displayed together as a single, consolidated group on the Candidate dashboard. Grouped tests are useful when you want to see the assessment and its components as a unified whole. They can serve as a good default format to organize multi-part assessments and are also suitable for single-sitting summative assessments that have several components.

Information display at each test stage

The candidate dashboard provides a dynamic view, updating the information displayed based on the test's lifecycle. You can view various columns that offer key details about the test components.

  • At the very beginning, on the start page of the grouped Candidate dashboard, you can view the following columns:
    • Name: The name of the test.
    • Status: The current status of the test.
    • Start time: The test's start time.
    • End time: The test's end time.
    • Actions: An Open action (if the test is active).

  • Before the individual component's start time, you can see the following key information:
    • Test name
    • Test start and end time
    • When the test is opened or scheduled to open.
    • Whether or not the candidate browser has been approved (if applicable).
    • A Start button (which becomes active at the start time).

  • Once the individual component's time window has begun, you can see the following key information:
    • Test name
    • Test start and end time
    • When the test is opened or scheduled to open.
    • Whether or not the candidate browser has been approved.
    • A Start button that is active (if you haven't started yet).

  • After submitting your test, but before the grading process is complete, you can see the following key information:
    • Start Date and End Date of the test.
    • Text to Speech status (if enabled).
    • Post Submission Review status (if enabled).

  • After the individual component has been graded, you can see the following key information on your dashboard:
    • Start Date and End Date of the test.
    • Text to Speech status (if enabled).
    • Post Submission Review status (if enabled).
    • Grade: The final grade awarded for the test.
    • Test results: Overview of your test results.
    • Candidate Report: Access to your detailed candidate report.
    • Marks: Your marks overview.
    • Comments/Annotations: Any comments or annotations made by graders.
    • Explanation: Access to explanations for your grades (if enabled and provided).

For Individual components

The information seen here depends on the stage of the assessment workflow, and the test settings for the Individual component. For more information on what candidates can view within the Candidate report, visit our Help Center article on After test setting.

Compatibility with IIB

Assessment Path children tests can be taken in IIB and SEB. However, in IIB the parent test will also be listed, even though it can not be taken (only the children can be taken).

After finishing the test in IIB or SEB, the candidates can review it just like they would on a non-lockdown browser test (depending on the test settings set up by the Planner). However, they will not be able to access the other children (or any other test) as the password is different from the test they are in.
