With the Legacy functionality that included Private and Shared marking, you would add Graders as contributors to a test and all graders would need to be assigned to a committee or candidate in order for grading to open.
As Grading Workflows will involve graders carrying out their tasks during different phases, there is an additional step required.
Step 1: Adding Graders as Contributors
Adding Graders to a test as contributors adds them to the test but does not assign them to any groups or candidates. Think of this step as adding them to an available pool of graders for the test.
Step 2: Adding Graders to their respective phases
Once the test has been activated you will be able to access Open and grader and group assignment from the top of the test’s Deliver screen.
It is also possible to access the same screen (including before the test has been activated) under the Grading workflow (New) setting.
The allocation of candidates to graders can be by random or explicit allocation, depending on the phase's setting. Unlike with our Legacy workflows where you need to create committees, assign graders to those committees and then assign candidates to the respective committees, Group and Grader allocation is much more straightforward.
In the Grading workflow (New) area, click Open grader and group assignment. This will open the Grader and group assignment screen. This screen will provide an overview of all the phases that contain marking.
Each phase will be listed with an overview of how many submissions in the phase will be marked, how many graders are marking each submissions, and whether the graders will be marking entire submissions or individual questions
