What is Inspera Docs?

  • Updated

Inspera Docs is our integrated way of handling handwritten and hand‑drawn responses in Inspera Assessment. In many cases, hand writings or drawings on paper are an important part of the candidate's assessment completion, and Inspera Docs lets your candidates deliver drawings on paper, in an otherwise digital workflow, still keeping the rest of the assessment, marking and feedback process digital.

This feature requires an additional licence. Please contact your Account Manager for more information and pricing.

How it works

When Inspera Docs is activated on a test, there will be a unique code added to each question for each candidate. This code identifies the specific candidate, test, and question. The candidates write their answer and the code on special paper that is later scanned and automatically added to the corresponding test, candidate, and question in Inspera. This is then available for the Graders along with the regular submission.

Using Inspera Docs consists of a few simple steps:

  1. The Planner activates the Inspera Docs option on the given test. See Setup and preparations for a test with Inspera Docs
  2. Inspera Docs Sheets are provided to the Candidates at the assessment location. The Sheets can be downloaded from Prepare Inspera Docs sheets
  3. The Candidate writes the unique question code on the sheets, and draws or writes their answers
  4. The Invigilators gathers the sheets and the sheets are scanned. The sheets can be scanned in bulk, and even in a mixture of different tests
  5. The scanned sheets are uploaded into Inspera Assessment, where a final review and potential error handling takes place before they are submitted to the candidate submission. Learn more in How to Upload and Review Inspera Docs Sheets
  6. The Markers view the sheets together with the rest of the Candidate submissions
  7. The Candidate can view drawings as a part of the submission after grading
