Marking 2.0 header guide for Grader

  • Updated

The header contains several different types of information and actions, an it is an important tool in your marking process. This article goes through the different parts of the header, such as the committee selector and the event logs.

In this article, the header is divided into a left and a right part, and we will go through the different parts.

The header is always available across all workspaces, but it can be hidden by using the footer.

Left part of the header

The left part consists of:

  1. Name of the test
  2. Grading committee or group you are operating from at the moment.
    • In the example above that is committee 1.
    • By clicking on the View or change committee text button, you will open the Committee selector in a new window.

The Committee selector

This gives you information about the committees. Here you can see the status on the committees and how many Graders there are in each, the number of submissions, marking deadline (if set), your role in the committee and which workflow that applies.

By clicking on Show emails you will see the members email addresses, their last login date and option to resend email invite.

Right part of the header

The right part consists of the status of the marking process (1), next step in the workflow (2), the options menu (3), switch to the Classic marking tool (4), your profile (5), and the details panel (6).

1. The status of the marking process

Here you can at any time monitor how far you have come in the marking process.

The image above shows marking in progress. This marking is private to you, and the progress shows that 3 out of 10 candidates have been graded.

2. Next step in the workflow

This button will always be the next step (primary action) in your marking process. When you have completed your marking (100%), the next step is to share your marks with co-graders. When you have shared, the next step is to view and resolve any grade conflicts, and the final step is to confirm the final grade.

You can read more about the marking process in these guides:

3. Options menu

In this menu there are a number of options for the Grader, divided into five main categories: workflow, settings, download, shortcuts, and import.

The options for workflow provides the same functionality as the next step in the workflow button in the header. Your next primary workflow action is listed here. This can be for example confirm or align grades. In this example the next step in the workflow is Share.

  • Here you will find options to update the questions weights, update the threshold values, update calculated grades, and edit correct answers in multiple choice questions.

  • This contains the various download options that are available to you. If there is a mark sceme attached, this is where you can download it. You can also download and print all submissions for marking on paper.

Note that the download options that are available depend on the settings and features enabled for your account.

5. Profile

Here you will find information about your own profile, language settings, logout option, and links to the Help Center.

6. Details panel

The details panel contains event logs related to the test, candidate or question.
