Mark questions with Criteria (Classic Marking)

  • Updated

This is available for Graders

The Criteria marking feature is a manual strategy for Graders to mark questions using one or more criteria. The criteria are set up by the Author and serve as a guide for consistent grading.

This article explains how to mark a question with criteria in the Classic marking tool.

Mark a question with Criteria

When you mark a question that uses criteria, the criteria will appear to the right of the candidate's submitted answer. The criteria are set up as a list, and each item in the list represents a different aspect of the candidate's work. The Author have assigned a specific point value to each criterion.

  1. To award marks, click on the criteria that the candidate has met.
  2. Click again to remove the marks for that criteria.

The system will then add the points to the total score. If the criteria has no points, you can use it to give feedback. The criteria can also have negative points.
