Grade with Excel

This functionality makes it possible to grade candidates without using Inspera Assessment's built-in grading tool.

Grades as Excel

Information: This feature requires activation.

How to Download Grades as Excel file

This is available for Graders and Planners.

  1. Within the Grading workspace, select Grades as Excel file from the Option menu.
  2. An XLS file will be saved to the harddrive.

View XLS file

The file will contain the following columns:

  • Candidate ID
  • Grade

If the candidates have not been given any grades yet, the Grade column will be empty.

How to Import Grades from Excel

This is available only to Graders.

You can enter grades in Excel rather than Grade via Inspera Assessment.

  1. Download a XLS file, as described in How to Download Grades as Excel file.
  2. Open the file (in Excel or similar software) and input the grades.
    Note: The grades in the file must coincide with the grading scale used for the assessment.
  3. When complete, in Grade, select Grades from Excel from the Options menu.

  4. Click on the Confirm button.
  5. Select the XLS file on your harddrive.
  6. Click on Open.
Note: Only grades with a corresponding Candidate ID will be imported. The candidate ID cannot be changed in the Excel file.
Note: If you use the grading scale Pass/Fail or Passed/Not passed, you need to register the grades as Pass/NotPass in the Excel document for the import to work.

Information

  • Grades in the XLS file will overwrite any existing grades in Inspera Assessment
  • Empty grades (cells) in XLS will not overwrite existing grades in Inspera Assessment
  • You can re-upload your XLS at any time.
  • Candidates who have not started the test will get status Submitted if a grade is imported

Marks as Excel

How to Download Marks as Excel file

  1. Within the Grading workspace, click select Marks as Excel file from the Options menu.
  2. An XLS file will be saved to the harddrive.

View your xls-file

The file will contain the following columns:

  • Candidate ID
  • Question number
  • TotalScore (ignored when importing marks)

If the candidates have not been given any marks yet, the Question column will be empty.

How to Import Marks from Excel

This is available only to Graders.

  2. Open the file (in Excel or similar software) and input the grades.

  6. Click on Open.

Information

  • The TotalScore column will be ignored in the import - total score should always be the sum of marks on all individual questions
  • The max score on a question still applies, and cells with marks above the max score will be ignored in the import
  • Empty cells in XLS will not overwrite existing marks in Inspera Assessment
  • You can re-upload your XLS at any time.
