Authors can designate specific questions for AI assistance during the question creation process. Currently, only Text Area and Essay Type questions are supported.

Enabling AI Assistance

1. In the Authoring module, click Create New question.
2. Toggle the AI-supported question types filter to display only compatible question types (Text Area and Essay Type).
3. Select your question type and open the editor.
4. In the question settings on the right panel, check the Enable AI-Supported Marking box.

Question Design Limitations To ensure compatibility with the AI grading models, the following restrictions apply when the AI-supported setting is enabled:

• Text Area Questions: Must contain only a single interaction block. The system will disable the option to insert multiple interaction blocks.
• Essay Type Questions: Must have Quantitative Rubrics attached (Points based, Points Range, or Percentage Range). Qualitative rubrics, Marked Qualitative rubrics, Criterion, and Maximum Marks are not supported for Essay Types using AI assistance.

Filtering AI-Eligible Questions in the Bank When building a question set, Authors can quickly find AI-ready questions in the item bank. An AI Eligible column displays "Yes" for supported questions. You can apply a filter to this column to view only questions explicitly marked as AI-compatible.
