Inspera Integrity Browser (IIB) v2 — Release & Upgrade Guide
Inspera Integrity Browser Version 2 (IIB v2.3.0) is an architectural, security, and usability upgrade designed to deliver a modern, consistent, and future-ready locked-down assessment experience. While preserving the trusted security model institutions rely on, IIB v2 introduces improved device compatibility, streamlined candidate workflows, and foundational platform upgrades.
What’s New in IIB v2.3.0
- Security & Engine Upgrade: Upgraded from Chromium Embedded Framework, incorporating critical Chromium security patches, modern web-platform capabilities, and updated HTML/JavaScript rendering capabilities for rich assessment content.
-
Native ARM Support: Native builds for both Apple Silicon (macOS) and Windows ARM devices.
- macOS: Removes reliance on Apple's Rosetta 2 translation layer, ensuring long-term compatibility and improved performance.
- Windows: Eliminates emulation overhead, resolving system check failures on Windows ARM devices.
Thehttps://<Your domain name>/get-iiblink will auto-detect the device architecture (ARM or Intel) and download the relevant Installer. If it can't detect the device architecture, candidates will see a page with instructions on how to check their device's processor and download the relevant IIB installer.
- Excel Question Type Support: Full support for Excel question types on both macOS and Windows, enabling candidates to answer questions directly within embedded O365 Excel interfaces without requiring student Microsoft licenses.
- Fewer False positive IRP events: Upgraded the library used in Inspera Resilience Proctoring (IRP), reducing false positives for events like "Person entering frame" and "Person leaving frame". Pre-exam proctoring checks are now present inside the test player instead of external IIB windows.
- Modernized UI: Modern web-based onboarding user interface across macOS and Windows.

- If auto-detection fails, candidates are shown an instruction page explaining how to identify their processor type and select and download the correct installer.

- Submit a request to set your institution's minimum and recommended IIB version to 2.3.0
