A demo test is designed for open practice: candidates can access it multiple times, and their answers are not stored.

Note: A standard demo test in Inspera is typically created as an open access familiarisation test. If your goal is specifically to demonstrate IIB with proctoring or lockdown behaviour, you must also enable the relevant security settings in the test setup.

Before you start

• You need access to the Deliver module.

• You must have extended access to create demo tests.

• You need a prepared Question Set.

• If the demo should run in IIB, make sure IIB is installed on the device you will use for testing.

Note: If you are creating a simple public familiarisation demo, security settings can be left blank. If you are creating an IIB-specific demo, enable IIB in the test security configuration.

What a demo test does

Steps to create the demo test

1. Open Inspera Assessment and go to the Deliver module.

2. Select Create New Test.

3. Choose Demo as the test type.

4. Complete the core setup fields:

   • Name

   • Question Set

   • Start Time

   • End Time

5. Configure the test depending on the type of demo you want:

   • For a basic open familiarisation test, leave Security settings blank.

   • For an IIB demo, go to Security options and enable Safe Exam Browser for PC and Mac > Advanced options > Enable Inspera Integrity Browser.

6. If using IIB, set the required passwords:

   • Invigilator Password

   • SEB Password

7. If using IIB for a demonstration, set the Security Policy to Open when a low-friction demo experience is preferred.

8. Enable Public Access so users can open the demo without logging in.

9. Optional: enable Redirect to URL if you want users sent to another page after finishing. If this is not enabled, users can restart the demo test.

10. Apply any required Design Settings. These affect how the questions appear to the candidate.

11. Skip Assessment Settings, since demo tests are not marked.

12. Select Activate Test.

13. Copy the generated URL shown at the top of the page and use it to launch or share the demo.

Recommended setup for an IIB demo

Optional: add proctoring to the demo

If the purpose of the demo is to show both IIB and Inspera Resilience Proctoring (IRP), you can enable proctoring in addition to IIB. This is optional and demo tests can be setup with or without Proctoring activated. 

• Enable Inspera Integrity Browser first

• Then enable Inspera Resilience Proctoring

• Select the relevant options, such as Audio, Video, Room, and Screen

• If needed, enable ID verification
   

Steps to take a demo test from the candidate side

1. Install IIB on your device (Windows or macOS) if not already installed

2. Launch IIB

3. Pass System Checks — IIB runs environment checks (OS compatibility, network, etc.)

4. Log in using your candidate credentials (username and password)

   

   

   

   

   

   
    

5. Land on the Test Selection screen — you'll see three tabs:

   1. Active tests — your scheduled exams

   2. Previous tests — completed/expired tests

   3. Demo tests — available demo tests

6. Click the "Demo tests" tab.

7. View available demo tests and select the desired

8. Select a demo test that has a Live status (or Starts in X days / Goes Live today if upcoming demos are enabled).

9. Enter the Security PIN provided by your institution in the text box that appears.

10. Click "Unlock and proceed to test" — the button becomes active after entering 6 characters.

11. If the PIN is correct, click Next to enter the test player.

12. Complete Remote Proctoring Support and Start Test and complete the Proctor checks.

13. Take the test — answers are not stored, and you can retake it as many times as you want.
