The feature is available for Admin, Author, Invigilator, Planner and Grader.
The My views feature allows you to create dynamic, automated lists by saving your custom search and filter criteria. Instead of manually searching for the same items every day, you can save views based on attributes like question titles, tags, exam dates, or submission statuses. The feature is available in both the Author and Deliver module.
Because these views are dynamic, any new question, question set, or test that matches your criteria will automatically appear in your list in real time.
This article explains how to create saved views for questions, question sets, and tests, as well as how to share your saved views with other users and Access Groups.
Create lists for Questions and Question sets
- Go to the Author module.
- Select either Questions or Question sets.
Search or filter to find the Questions/Question sets you want to create a list for.
For Question Sets, it is most common to list them based on name, which is why consistent naming conventions are important. For universities and colleges, it is recommended that the question set name includes the course code, making it easily searchable. For K12, the intended naming convention is to write "Subject" + "Topic".
Click Save as View from the Views menu (three horizontal lines) in the top right corner.
Name the list and click Save.
- You can find your saved views in the left side panel under My Views.
Create lists for test instances
- Go to Test in the Deliver module.
- Search or filter to find the instances you want to create a list for.
- Click Save as View from the Views menu (three horizontal lines) in the top right corner.
- Name the list and click Save.
- You can find your saved views in the left side panel under My Views.
A useful view to create in the Deliver module can be upcoming exams/tests. To create this list use the filter Test start date. Select Within the next and enter the number of days/weeks/months
This ensures that the list will always display upcoming exams/tests dynamically.
Share lists with users
It is possible to share lists with individual colleagues as well as everyone within the same organizational unit. Keep in mind, however, that they must have the correct role assigned, which will allow them to edit tasks/questions.
- Select the list you want to share. You can find them on teh left side panel under My views.
Click the Views menu (three horizontal lines) in the top right corner.
- Select Share with users or Sharing with Access Groups.
- Search and select the correct user/Access Group.
- When complete, click Close.
