Authors and Planners can print or download a Question Set in Inspera Assessment. This feature, sometimes referred to as the Print manager, allows you to control the visibility of the table of contents, correct answers, and marks in the generated document. 

This article explains how to access and use the print and download options, details the available settings, and outlines critical limitations to be aware of.

How to print and download

You can access the print and download options for a Question Set from two main locations: the Author module and the Grade module.

From the Author module

• 1. Select a question set in the Author module.

  2. Click the options menu (three dots) the top right corner, and select Print Manager

     

• 1. Select a Question set in the Author module.

  2. Click the print icon in the top right corner. 

     

From the Grade module

1. Go to the test.
2. Choose the PDF option for any available language.

Once you have accessed the options, you can print and/or download the document after checking your desired settings. The chosen settings will apply to both the direct printout and the downloaded question set.

Print and download settings

The following options are available in the Settings panel, allowing you to customize the content and formatting of your printed or downloaded Question Set:

• Documents: Includes not marked Document question types that are part of the test.
• Hide auto-marked questions: This option is useful if the test has a mix of automatically marked and manually marked questions. When enabled, the automatically marked questions will not be included in the printout or download.
• Question maximum marks: This includes the highest possible number of marks under each question.
• Correct answers: This includes the correct answer for automatically marked questions. If the printed version is used as a backup or offline solution, this must be disabled.
• Table of contents: This includes a table of contents of questions at the beginning of the submission.
• Question page breaks: Each question starts on a new page instead of directly after the previous question.
• Hide large interactions elements: The text editor box will be hidden in certain question types, such as Essay, Upload Assignment, and Programming.

Known limitations

When printing or downloading a Question Set, it is essential to be aware of certain critical limitations that may affect your document:

• PDF Panel Exclusion: If a PDF is uploaded in the PDF panel of one or more questions, these files will not be included in a direct printout of the question set. They will, however, be included if the question set is downloaded first.
• MP4 File Exclusion: Question sets that contain questions with MP4 video files cannot be exported.
• Overwriting by Planners: Although the Author can decide the design settings of a question set, these can be overwritten by the Planner in test settings. This does not impact the initial design of the question set.
