The Submit Blank feature is an option for a candidate who starts a test but chooses not to submit an answer. This feature allows the candidate to make a deliberate choice, which prevents confusion for the Planner or Grader who might otherwise assume the submission was lost.
If a candidate chooses this option, they are warned that it cannot be undone, and the submission cannot be retrieved by Inspera support.
This feature requires activation. Please contact the Service Desk to activate it for your Inspera Assessment tenancy.
Additional settings
- Blank submissions available in grading: Whether blank deliveries should be forwarded for grading can be configured to meet your specific needs.
- Require invigilator password to submit blank in lockdown tests: To prevent candidates from choosing this option by mistake, you can require the Invigilator password before a candidate is allowed to deliver blank. The candidate must contact the Invigilator if they wish to use this option.
Candidate experience
During a test, a candidate can find the Submit blank option in the Options menu (hamburger icon) in the top right corner. After selecting it, they will receive an additional warning that they must accept before submitting blank.
