Labels in Inspera Assessment help you tag your questions with specific subjects or categories. This helps you find a specific question easily, and narrows search results in the question bank. Labels can be added at any time.
This article guides you through all aspects of using labels, from creating and applying them to questions, to filtering your question bank using labels and removing them.
How to create a label
Within the Author module, begin by creating a question, or open an existing one.
- To the right of the page, within the general options panel, open the labels dropdown menu.
- Type a label name and click + add, or press Enter. You can add multiple labels to a single question.
- In the top-right corner, click Save
How to filter questions by labels
Once questions have labels, you can use them to sort and organize your questions within the Author > Questions view.
- In the top-right corner of the screen, click Filters
-
Select the Labels dropdown menu
- Start typing the label name (a minimum of 3 characters is required to initiate the search).
- Select the label you are searching for from the suggestions.
Filtering behavior
When you filter using labels, the system displays all questions that contain any of the selected labels. It is not possible to filter for questions that exclusively have more than one specific label together.
Example:
- Question 1 has "Biology"
- Question 2 has "Genetics"
- Question 3 has "Biology" and "Genetics"
If you filter for both "Biology" AND "Genetics," all three questions will appear in your view because each question contains at least one of the filtered labels.
How to remove a label
You can remove a label from a question at any time.
- Click on the label you wish to remove.
- Then click the X icon next to the label name.
It is not possible to edit or remove labels from questions in a bulk operation.
