This is available for Planner.
Instead of directly adding candidates to a test in Inspera Assessment, you can invite them by sharing a test code. This allows candidates to self-register for a test.
This article explains how Planners can enable and distribute a test code, and outlines the candidate's experience when registering for a test using this method.
This feature requires activation. Please contact the Service Desk to activate it for your Inspera Assessment tenancy.
How to enable test code for a test
Important to note
- The test code will only work with SSO (Single Sign-On) candidates or Permanent student users.
- IIB does not support this feature.
Instructions
To allow candidates to self-register using a test code:
- In the Deliver module, navigate to the test setup by either choosing an existing test or creating a new test.
- In the test settings, find the Candidates section.
-
Select the invitation mode Invite by sharing Test Code
- When you change the setting to invite by sharing a test code, the system removes the option to manually add candidates from the test setup.
Test code generation and distribution
Once you activate the test, the system automatically generates a unique test code for the Planner. This test code typically consists of three letters (representing the institution where the test is available) followed by numbers.
- After you activate the test, you can distribute the test code to the candidates who will take the test.
- The candidate list in the Monitor tool will automatically update as candidates enroll in the test using the code. If candidates need individual settings (such as extra time or spell check), you can only apply these settings after the candidate starts the test.
Anonymous or non-anonymous candidates
It is possible to use anonymous candidates in combination with the test code. You can find the setting for anonymous or non-anonymous candidates under General settings in the test settings. You cannot change this setting after you activate the test.
If the test was anonymous, the Grader can find the candidate names in the Grading module after they confirm the grading.
Candidate Experience
- Candidates log on to Inspera Assessment using their SSO credentials as they normally would.
-
After logging in, the candidate registers the test code by clicking Register. If the candidate is already assigned to other tests, they may find this button further down, at the end of their list of tests.
- Once the candidate registers the code, the test appears in their My tests list.
- If the test window is currently open (i.e., the test is active), the candidate can start the test immediately.
