Available for Planners and Chief invigilator.
This feature allows you to attach files to a candidate's test submission. This is useful when a candidate has paper-based work, like a drawing, or if the candidate submits their answer outside Inspera, this function can be used to make the file available to the Grader.
This article shows you how to attach a file, how to remove or edit attachments, and what the Grader sees.
Before you attach a file
- Adding a file to a candidate’s answer will always set the candidate's status to Submitted. This means the candidate must finish their digital answer before a file is added.
- The maximum file size is 50 MB.
Attach a file
When is it possible to add a file?
- The test must have started for the selection to be available.
- The option to attach a file is also available after the test is completed.
- It is always possible to attach a file to candidates who have the status Submitted.
When is it not possible to attach a file?
- When the test is finished grading.
- In active (ongoing) tests, it is not possible to attach a file to candidates who have started the test, but have not yet submitted.
How to attach a file:
-
In the candidate list in the test tool or in Monitor, find the candidate and select Attach file from the action menu.
-
If the candidate does not have the Submitted status, a warning will appear. Click Continue to confirm that the candidate's status will change when the file is uploaded.
- Select a file from your computer.
- You will get a confirmation that the file has been added.
- In the candidate list you will see that the file has been added to the candidate. The candidate will also receive the status Submitted in the candidate list.
Remove or edit attachments
You cannot remove or edit an attachment once a Grader has started grading a candidate's submission. A Grader starts grading when they set the first point or grade. If you need to change the attachment, the Grader must first reset all points or grades.
How to remove/edit attachments:
-
In the candidate list in the test tool or in Monitor, find the candidate and select Edit attachment from the action menu.
- Whether you are removing or replacing the attachment, you must start by removing the existing one.
- To upload a new attachment, continue in the same dialog box as described in How to attach a file section above.
Note: When the attachment is removed, the candidate's delivery status is reset to what it was before the attachment was added.
Display for Grader
-
In the new assessment tool, any attachments will be marked with a pink "1" icon. PDF attachments are displayed directly in the tool. Other file types must be downloaded and opened in another program.
-
In the old grading tool, the attachment is in a yellow box on the right side, just above the private notes field. The attachment must be downloaded and opened in another program.
