Turnitin is a similarity reporting tool that has been added to the Inspera Assessment platform. You can request similarity reports directly within the grading tool. This article will provide you with information on Turnitin, along with a step-by-step tutorial on activating it within your test.

How to request a similarity report as a Planner
As the Planner of a test, you can request for similarity reports to be generated for all candidate submissions on a test. This is done in the preparation phase, and the reports will be ready for the grader(s) once they start grading.
- Set up a test in the Deliver module.
- Enable Marking 2.0.
- Under Options, select the Security drop-down and click Request Similarity report.
How to request a similarity report as a Grader
If the Planner does not request a similarity report in the test settings, no reports will be available when opening the Similarity tab.
To request a similarity Report:
- Select the Marking workspace.
- In the Marking menu, select the Similarity tab.
- Click Request report.
View similarity reports
This is available for Planners and Graders.
You can view similarity report scores within the Marking and Overview workspace.
Marking workspace
- Once the test is closed, select the Marking workspace.
- Select the candidate you want to preview similarity reports for.
- In the Marking menu, select the Similarity tab.
Overview workspace
- Once the test is closed, select the Overview workspace.
- Click a score underneath the Similarity column to view an individual candidate's similarity report.
Turnitin viewer settings
Similarity results will be viewable on the right-hand panel.
- Click Flags to review flagged information such as hidden text.
- Click Overall Similarity to review the sources overview.
- Click Settings to Exclude search repositories and Exclude from Similarity Report.
- Click Help for a tour of the workspace and to display the Paper ID.
- Click Document Details to review information about the document file.
