Handling loss of internet connection with auto submission

Internet connectivity issues can arise, but Inspera Assessment provides mechanisms to manage submissions even if the connection is lost when the test time ends.

This article explains how to handle a candidate’s submission if they lose their internet connection when a test with auto submission is ending. It details the candidate’s experience on the submission page and provides guidance on how to handle the situation if the internet connection doesn’t restore or if it restores later.

  1. Offline Scenario: If the test time ends and the candidate is offline, they will still be automatically sent to the submission page. A message about downloading the submission will be displayed.
  2. Solution: If the internet connection does not restore, the candidate must save their submission as a file. This file then needs to be sent or given to an invigilator.

  3. If Internett connection is restored: If the internet connection restores while the candidate is on the submission page, the page will automatically upload the submission. The message on the screen will be updated.

If the test time has ended and the internet connection is lost, neither the work the candidate did before going offline nor any work done while offline will be automatically submitted if the candidate closes the browser or leaves the test before the internet connection is restored.
