This functionality makes it possible to mark candidate assessments without using Inspera Assessment's built-in grading tool. You can set marks on all questions for all candidates.
This article explains all the steps on how to mark using Excel, and shares important notes.
This feature requires activation. Please contact the Service Desk to activate it for your Inspera Assessment tenancy.
First download Marks as Excel file
- Within the Grade module, go to the Options dropdown menu.
- Under Download select Marks as Excel file.
- An XLS file will be saved to the hard drive.
View your XLS file and mark
The file will contain the following columns:
- Candidate ID
- Question number
- TotalScore (ignored when importing marks)
If the candidates have not been given any marks yet, the Question column will be empty.
Start marking:
- Open the file (in Excel or similar software) and input the marks.
Import marks from Excel
This is available only to Graders.
- When marking is complete, go to the Grade module, and click on the Option dropdown menu.
- Under Import select Marks from Excel.
- Click on the Confirm button.
- Select the XLS file on your hard drive.
- Click Open.
Important to note on Marking in Excel
- The TotalScore column will be ignored in the import - total score should always be the sum of marks on all individual questions
- The max score on a question still applies, and cells with marks above the max score will be ignored in the import
- Empty cells in XLS will not overwrite existing marks in Inspera Assessment
- You can re-upload your XLS at any time.
