Available for Author.
Inspera Assessment allows Authors to create multiple language versions of individual questions, independent of a question set's language settings.
This article provides step-by-step instructions on how to translate a single question, outlines important considerations including potential warnings, and emphasizes the need for a quality check.
Important considerations for question translation
- Warning Message: When saving a new language version for an individual question, you may notice a warning message displayed, often highlighted in yellow (see image in part 3 of How to translate a question). This message reminds you of the crucial multi-language principle; it is no longer possible to add or remove interaction elements to the question after it has been translated. Therefore, you must ensure the question is 100% finalized before creating a new language version.
- PDF Panel: If a PDF panel has been added to the question, it must be added to all language versions, even if the PDF content is identical across all versions.
How to translate a question
- In the question's edit mode, locate the language settings at the top center of the page.
-
Click the cogwheel icon to change language settings.
-
Select the language you want the question to be translated into and click Save.
-
Once saved, the question's new language version is added and will be enabled in the top center of the question's edit mode.
- You are now ready to translate the textual content of the question, including the question text itself, any instructions, and all answer alternatives.
