GeoGebra is a dynamic mathematics software that integrates geometry, algebra, spreadsheets, graphing, statistics, and calculus into one easy-to-use package. By using GeoGebra as a resource, you can provide candidates with powerful tools for calculations and modeling to solve questions, even if the questions are not specifically GeoGebra-enabled themselves.
Key Applications in GeoGebra
At geogebra.org, you can choose from various applications which you can use as resources in a question set. These applications include:
- Calculator Suite
- Graphing Calculator
- Geometry
- 3D Calculator
- GeoGebra Classic
- CAS Calculator
- Scientific Calculator
- Probability Calculator
- Spreadsheet
- Notes
(To use GeoGebra as a resource, it is an advantage if candidates are already familiar with GeoGebra.)
GeoGebra resources in Inspera Assessment
In Inspera Assessment, you can provide GeoGebra to candidates in two main ways as a resource:
-
As a general resource: This provides candidates with a link to the full GeoGebra web application, giving them access to all tools. This is a secure method that removes the possibility of candidates accessing local files on their devices. For more information, refer to the How to use GeoGebra as a resource article.
When GeoGebra is added as a resource, Graders cannot see the work candidates have performed within the application. The work conducted in the GeoGebra resource is not saved and will not be submitted along with the candidate's response.
- As a custom GeoGebra file: You can add a specific .ggb file you created as a resource. This allows you to pre-select the application and define values, sketches, or other elements. This method, however, comes with a potential security risk as candidates may be able to access local files on their devices. For more information, refer to the Adding Custom GeoGebra Files as Resources article.
