Sharing comments with candidates and Graders (After test settings)

In the After test settings, you can configure how feedback is shared once a test is complete. This article explains how to enable comments for candidates, how to allow Graders to collaborate privately, and the impact these settings have on the candidate's archive view.

Share comments with candidate

The commenting tool allows Graders to make two types of comments: post annotations and Page Notes (general comments) to candidates, co-markers and as draft comments. This section defines if these comments are to be shared with the candidate.

  • Not SharedIf this option is selected, comments (i.e., annotations and Page Notes) will not be shared with the candidates.
  • Shared with Candidate: If this option is selected, candidates with status Graded will be able to access the comments the Grader shared with them in the commenting tool

If the comments are shared, the candidate will get access to the commented question only, unless any of the settings below are activated. This means that it is possible to show the comments for one question, and at the same time not give the candidate access to the whole submission.

When the candidate views the test in their archive, there will be a link to the commented question.

Comment Settings

This section allows the definition of extra settings surrounding the comments mentioned in the above section.

  • Allow graders to post comments to each other: When this setting is enabled and there are multiple co-graders, they can share comments amongst themselves in the commenting tool. Even if this option is not selected, Graders can share comments on an answer with the corresponding candidate directly in the commenting tool. This is independent of whether or not the shared with candidate option from the previous section is selected.

Test settings explained

This presentation was a part of Inspera Seminar 2020. It walks you through all test settings in Inspera. Keep in mind that some things have changed since it was recorded back in 2020.
