Manage candidates in an Assessment Path

The Candidates section of an Assessment Path is where you manage all candidate information, including who is taking the tests and how they are distributed.

This article explains the different methods for adding candidates, details how to monitor their distribution across tests, and outlines the various options for managing the candidate list, such as removing candidates or downloading a CSV file.

Information on candidate management

You have several options for managing candidates within an Assessment Path to meet your specific needs. You can add all candidates from the Assessment Path to the tests or have different candidates on different tests. You also have the flexibility to skip adding candidates at the Assessment level and only add them to the tests, in case there is no need for marking at the Assessment level.

By adding unique candidates to individual tests outside of the Assessment Path, you can allow candidates who are not included in the path to take the same test as those who are. For example, a candidate who failed a specific exam from a course module in the previous year does not need to retake all assessments for that course but only the one they failed. This saves time and avoids the need to set up a separate test for these individuals.

Candidates on Assessment Path

Here you can see an overview of the candidates who have been added to the Assessment Path. You are given an overview of the following:

  • Candidates on Assessment Path: This is the total number of candidates assigned to the entire Assessment Path.
  • Not added to any tests: This is the number of candidates who are part of the Assessment Path but have not yet been assigned to any of its individual tests.

Candidate distribution

The candidate distribution gives you an overview of how candidates are assigned across the tests in your Assessment Path.

  • Test: The name of the tests.
  • Status: The status of a test at any point in time.
  • Total candidates: The number of candidates on the given test.
  • On Assessment: The number of candidates who are assigned to the Assessment Path.
  • Unique: The number of candidates who are assigned to the test, but not the Assessment Path.
  • Not assigned: The number of candidates who are not assigned from the Assessment Path to the test.
  • Assign: Click Assign to test to assign all candidates on the Assessment to the tests.
  • A test has 10 candidates:

    • Out of which 7 are part of the Assessment Path as a whole and also assigned to the test.
    • Out of which 3 are unique, which means they are on the test, but not part of the Assessment as a whole.

    This would mean:

    • Total Candidates: 10
    • On Assessment: 7
    • Unique: 3
    • Not Assigned: 0

Manage candidates

In the Manage candidates section you can add canidtates to the Assessment Path, download candidate list in a CSV file, view candidates in monitor, and remove candidates.

    • CSV Import (SSO): This is for importing candidates via a CSV file, especially for Single Sign-On (SSO) users.
      • Select your authentication type (e.g., Feide or Google) from the dropdown, and click Upload candidate CSV.
    • Permanent users: These are candidates who have permanent Inspera Assessment user accounts.
  2. After you have added candidates, you can manage them by clicking on the Options dropdown to perform the following actions:
    • Download list as CSV
    • View in Monitor
    • ID: The candidate's ID.
    • Committee: The committee the candidate is a part of.
