Inspera Assessment

What’s new?

Improved candidate view - Numbering and answered/unanswered questions

We have improved the layout of the candidate view to help them see which questions are answered and unanswered. This includes where candidate selected questions, randomisation and pull have been used.

Candidates can now view which questions have been answered and unanswered in the following locations:

  1. During the test
  1. Table of Contents
  1. Pre-submission summary page
  1. Post-test View and Submission Download

In addition, we have improved the consistency of information between screens to ensure that the question numbers are consistent throughout, even where randomisation or pull have been used.

This change can be enabled through the Inspera Service Desk.

Improvements and Fixes:

Questions Marks in Candidate Report now display independent of the post submission review. When we released the new option for post submission review "only summary page with marks" we introduced a minor bug. If the default post submission option "questions and answers excluding marks" was selected, the question marks would not appear in the candidate report even if the "show questions marks" option was selected. This fixes that issue. These options are now completely independent, and this will apply retroactively to past tests.

Inspera Integrity Browser can now be closed when a test ends with unanswered mandatory questions. The exit lockdown button was previously missing when the test end time was reached and the candidate has unanswered mandatory questions. This made it challenging to exit lock down mode on the device. The exit lockdown button we have now introduced when test end time is reached rectifies this.

Improved information on submission status screen - Mandatory Questions. For tests with auto submit we have included a status on the candidate dashboard as to whether the test will be auto submitted at test end time. This was missing for tests with mandatory questions, making it difficult for candidates to understand whether their test would be submitted or not.

Drawings made with the new drawing tool are now automatically saved every 30 seconds. It is important to note that this only works on tests created after this release. To enable this functionality on an already created test: deactivate it and re-add the question set.

Fixed an issue with the Mark Scheme becoming locked when setting a question as mandatory.

Inspera Integrity Browser

What’s New?

A new button "Accessible License Agreement" has been added to IIB Installer.
Starting with IIB version 1.16.20, a new button "Accessible License Agreement" has been added to the IIB Installer for Windows. The current installer does not meet our standards for accessibility, and so this will be amended in the next release to ensure compatibility with screen readers.

This is a part of a series of accessibility improvements we are making to Inspera Integrity Browser.

Updated URL to download Inspera Integrity Browser

We have updated the URL that allows you to download Inspera Integrity Browser. The new URL is https://NAME.inspera.com/get-iib where NAME is your tenancy.

Anyone who uses this URL will get the version of Inspera Integrity Browser you have set as default with our Service Desk. You are also able to download previous versions of Inspera Integrity Browser (or Inspera Exam Portal as it was previously known) by adding to the URL. To download version 1.15.12 you can use the following URL:

https://NAME.inspera.com/get-iib?version=1.15.12

The name of the file you download will reflect the name of the product when that version was created. Versions 1.16.x and above will download as a file called Inspera-Integrity-Browser-1.16.X-NAME.exe for example. Versions 1.15.x and earlier will be called Inspera Exam Portal.

For now, the old URL https://NAME.inspera.com/get-iep will also continue to work.

Inspera Originality

What’s New?

New Inspera Originality Moodle Plugin Functionality

In this new version of the Inspera Originality Moodle plugin, we are presenting a new group submissions feature. When an assignment is set as a group submission, the IO report is associated with all the students that make up the group, regardless of who submitted the assignment. For now, in IO only the student who submitted it is considered the author of the report, but within Moodle the report will still be associated with all the students in the group.
We have also made improvements to the Submissions Management page. The page now:

  • only lists submissions younger than 6 months old
  • only lists submissions that failed to obtain a report
  • paginates the submissions
  • includes the reason for failure
  • lists submissions in creation order, with the most recent at the top
  • allows administrators to select several submissions and delete or resubmit them all at the same time.

Additionally, when an assignment is cloned, the IO plugin settings are now also applied to the new assignment.

Account Linking and Auto-sync between IO and IA. This new feature fixes the issue of duplicate users being created in Inspera Originality from integrations such as Single Sign-On, IA and Canvas. The user will see a new “Link your account” in the account settings where they will be prompted to write down their email and follow the wizard on linking their account. The IO <> IA user will be automatically synced. The end result is a user across IO, IA, and Canvas will only have one user instead of multiple.

Improvements and Fixes:

Change to platform logins between IO and IA. This change has two purposes and both will be available under MPP and will be configurable on the tenant dashboard.

  • For students: Institutions can now restrict students from accessing IO from IA. This is to prevent students having access to features available in IO that are not available in IA (for instance, Precheck submissions).
  • For administrators: Institutions can now prevent administrators from accessing IO from IA. This is to prevent workflow confusion. As such, only the admins with Administrator role should be able to see the Inspera Originality -> Go to Inspera Originality option.

This change can be enabled through the Inspera Service Desk.

Internal and External Document Matching Improvements

In cases of potential student collusion, the report would show “This source is from a private document.” regardless of whether it was from within-institution or cross-institution. Now there is a distinction between them with labels like “Internal document match” and “External document match.”

When a document has cross-institution collusion, it was previously very hard to make sense of the offline report information as it only says “Private document”. With the latest changes, evaluators can see more context on the offline report by displaying the name of the institution, as well as the date of the upload (e.g. “Private document (University A, 20-01-2026).

Translation and Accessibility Update. There have been cases of flags of captions not being correctly translated, as well as keys sometimes being deployed instead of values.  With this update, all captions are translated and up to date.

Accessibility in the Originality Report has also been updated:

  • Logical Navigation (Focus Management): To prevent users from getting "lost" in long documents, the cursor returns to a known location.
  • Visual Inclusion (Zoom & Reflow): To support users with low vision content remains visible and readable at high zoom levels. The options to Zoom in, Zoom out and Reset to default have been added for better usability.
  • Full Feature Access (Keyboard Control): To ensure the tool is mouse-independent, every student will be able to submit or change sources regardless of whether they use a mouse, a keyboard, or an assistive switch device.
  • Workflow Efficiency (Shorter ARIA labels): To respect the user’s time, we have reduced ‘audio clutter’, which allows screen reader users to process information faster.
