Starter Author CURs

  • Updated

This functionality is available for User Administrators and Item Bank Managers.

Starter Author Custom User Roles (CURs)

When the Author Custom User Roles (CURs) functionality is enabled for your institution, you will automatically receive three default Starter CURs. These pre-configured roles are designed to give you a quick and easy starting point for setting up granular permissions on your Item Banks.

The three Starter CURs provided are:

  • Author Full Access CUR: Grants all content authoring permissions within an Item Bank.
  • Author View and Edit Only CUR: Grants viewing and editing permissions, but not the ability to create, trash, or perform advanced import/export actions.
  • Author View Only CUR: Grants minimal permissions, allowing the user only to view content within an Item Bank.

These Starter CURs are yours to use, modify, or delete as required. You can publish them immediately for use with your Item Banks and Access Groups, or you may choose to edit them to better suit your institution's specific needs before publishing.

Starter CUR Permission Breakdown

The table below details the specific permissions that are enabled within each of the three Starter CURs. A cross indicates that the permission is granted by that Starter CUR.
