Report Buttons & Navigation Tabs

  • Updated

The Originality Report includes navigation tabs and specific action buttons to facilitate a seamless and efficient review experience. These features help users move through the report and engage with its content more effectively.

1. Originality Report Buttons

The Originality Report features a set of interactive buttons designed to help users explore insights, take action, and navigate the report with ease. Each button provides access to specific functions or additional information that enhances the review and analysis process.

The Help Center button redirects users to the Inspera Originality Help Center, and the Expand View button, available across LMS integrations, opens the Originality Report in a new browser tab. These actions are straightforward, allowing the focus to remain on the other buttons.

1.1 Details Button

The Details button shows key document information like title, language, selected languages for similarity analysis (up to three), AI Authorship and Manipulations Analysis status, file size, word count, and page count.

View count

Users can see how many times a submission has been opened by other users. This helps track how often the document has been accessed or reviewed.

1.2 Download Button

The Download button allows users to download an offline version of the Originality Report containing all the same information as the online view. It also provides the option to download the uploaded document file as a PDF, ensuring users have both the report and the original document readily available for review and record-keeping.

1.3 Settings Button

The Settings button offers options for configuring the Originality Report UI language, privacy settings, and sharing preferences. Please note the information displayed under the settings button may vary depending on which user is accessing the Originality Report.

1.3.1 Translation (Originality Report UI Language)

The default language of the Originality Report UI is English, with additional language options including German, Spanish, Swedish, and Norwegian (Nynorsk & Bokmål).

1.3.2 Reset button

The Reset button restores the Originality Report to its original state. When selected, all previously excluded sources and sentences are reinstated exactly as they were when the report was first generated. This action removes any manual adjustments made after the initial analysis, allowing you to start the review process again from the default results.

1.3.3 Privacy Settings

This section focuses on deletion permission management in relation to Originality Reports. Note that the availability and layout of options may vary based on the user and Originality Report.

  1. Under Privacy Settings, educators and administrators can manage deletion settings for a student submission.

    • Allow Student to Delete Document from Archives - This option grants the student permission to delete the submitted document from the institutional archive. However, the Originality Report remains available on the platform.
    • Allow Student to Delete Document from Repository This option grants the student permission to delete both the submitted document and the corresponding Originality Report from the platform entirely.
    • Delete Document - This option allows an educator or administrator to delete both the submission document and the corresponding Originality Report from the platform entirely.

The first option remains effectively disabled if the submission was not archived or if it has already been used by the student.

Regardless of the option chosen, administrators and educators will be prompted for confirmation.

Similarly, administrators and educators will also be prompted for confirmation when choosing to delete a document directly.

  2. Under Privacy Settings, students can view the deletion permissions that an administrator or educator has made available for their submission.

    • Delete from Archive - This option allows the student to delete the uploaded document from the institutional archive, excluding it from future collusion checks. The corresponding Originality Report will remain available on the platform.
    • Delete from Repository - This option allows the student to delete the uploaded document and the corresponding Originality Report from the platform entirely.

The first option is available to the student only when the uploaded document has been archived, and it remains disabled if it is not archived or if the student has already used it.

If an administrator or educator disables both options, the student’s Privacy Settings section will appear as shown in the image below.

Regardless of the option chosen, the student will always be prompted for confirmation.

  3. Educators in Inspera Originality can upload documents on-demand for originality-checking, which are noted as personal uploads that remain accessible only to the educator who uploaded them. For more details, please see section 4 in Educator - Add Units

Under Privacy Settings, educators can adjust the available settings as needed and have direct control over the privacy setting for their personal uploads.

    • Delete from Archive - This option deletes the uploaded document from the institutional archive, excluding it from future collusion checks. The Originality Report for the document will remain available on the platform.
    • Delete from Repository - This deletes the uploaded document and and the corresponding Originality Report from the platform entirely.

When making a personal upload, educators can choose whether they want to archive the document or not. Depending on this configuration, the availability of the first option will vary. On the contrary, the first option will also be disabled when it has already been used by the educator.

Regardless of the option chosen, the educator will be prompted for confirmation.

  4. When enabled at the institutional level by an administrator, students can use the pre-check submissions feature, which allows them to submit documents for on-demand originality checking. These submissions are only accessible to the student who uploaded them.

Under Privacy Settings, students can directly delete the uploaded document and its Originality Report from the platform.

    • Delete from Repository - This option allows the student to delete the uploaded document and its corresponding Originality Report from the platform entirely.

The student will always be prompted for confirmation before deleting.

1.3.4 Share Report

This section provides Originality Report sharing capabilities, as well as access management once the Originality Report has been shared.

  1. Sharing via email requires entering the recipient's email address and specifying their access level and viewing mode. Access can be set to one-time, time-based, or unlimited. For the viewing mode, you can choose 'View' to allow view-only access or 'Edit' to permit the recipient to make changes.

  2. Sharing via link requires specifying the recipients access level and viewing mode. Access can be set to one-time, time-based, or unlimited. For the viewing mode, you can choose 'View' to allow view-only access or 'Edit' to permit the recipient to make changes. This is followed by generating a link, which can then be shared with the designated recipient.

  3. Regardless of the sharing method selected, all users with access to the Originality Report are displayed in expandable rows that offer detailed information about each sharing instance.

2. Navigation Tabs

The navigation tabs are intended to improve usability by allowing users to move quickly between different pages of the document. Each tab is numbered and corresponds to a specific page in the document. Clicking on a tab redirects the user to that page within the report.

A red dot on a tab indicates that integrity concerns, such as potential similarity or manipulations, have been detected on that page. This feature helps users quickly identify and address problematic sections within the submission.
