When Content Access is set to Restricted, users must submit a request to access documents linked to users at other institutions. Inspera Originality logs these requests, allowing institution administrators to efficiently approve or revoke access as required.
Administrators can efficiently manage both inbound and outbound document access requests directly from the Requests page within their user account. The Requests page is organized into two tabs, sent and received requests, enabling efficient navigation.
Document access requests are initiated from within an Originality Report. When a source is labeled as "Source from private document" and the institution that owns the document has content access set to Restricted, an official access request must be sent to that institution to view the document.
Sent Tab
The Sent tab displays all document access requests submitted from your institution to access documents at other institutions using Inspera Originality. Requests are organized in rows, with each row presenting general details about the respective request, such as which user from your institution made the request and when, and the institution to which the request was sent.
In addition, administrators can view the request purpose, which is typically a note submitted with the request at the time it was made.
Administrators can only view the requested document if the access request has been approved. On the contrary, the document remains inaccessible.
Administrators can view the internal submission that was matched for similarity against the requested document.
The Status colum indicates whether the access to the requested document has been approved or rejected.
Received Tab
This Received tab displays all document access requests received from other institutions using Inspera Originality. Requests are organized in rows, with each row presenting general details about the respective request, such as who made the request and when, their corresponding institution, and the title of the requested document.
In addition, administrators can view the request purpose, which is typically a note submitted with the request at the time it was made.
Administrators can also view the requested document, providing greater flexibility in assessing whether access should be granted.
The Status toggle allows administrator to grant or revoke access to the requested document as needed. The initial status is Pending.
Administrators can also leave a comment when making a decision - whether approving or rejecting a request. These comments provide additional context, helping other administrators understand the reasoning behind the decision and ensuring better transparency and consistency across the review process.
