Rules for extra time with Live Proctoring

This article is for Planners and Invigilators.

For Live Proctoring, the proctor's booking will always include an additional 30 minutes at the end of the test. During this time, the proctor will stay in the session to review and process any flags, even if all candidates have already submitted and exited their tests.

If your candidates require extra time (either pre-set before the test, or incident extra time granted during the test), this can be added using the relevant actions within Deliver or Monitor in Inspera Assessment. However, it's essential to note:

  1. Extra time per candidate should never exceed 30 minutes in total for a Live Proctoring test. The system will prevent the Planner or Invigilator from adding more than 30 minutes of extra time. If a user attempts to exceed this limit, an error message will be displayed. This limit applies to extra time added either prior or during the test.
  2. During the extra time, only candidates who are already in the test may continue. If a candidate exits the test during the extra time, they will not be permitted to re-enter.
Note: if you have candidates who have access arrangements that mean they require extra time in excess of 30 minutes, then we recommend you set up and book another test with different timings.
