Do I need to install any specific software or application for the screen recording? 

The candidates do not require any extra software or applications to activate screen recording. It implies that the necessary screen recording functionality is already integrated into the system or platform, simplifying the process for candidates. This eliminates the need for candidates to install, configure, or manage additional software, streamlining the screen recording experience and making it more user-friendly.

How do I check if I am ready for the remote exam/test? 

  1. Operating System and Device Requirements: 
    • Utilize a Laptop or Desktop computer running either Windows OS or Mac Operating System. 
    • Ensure that your Operating System is licensed and up-to-date, with no pending installations. 
    • The user should possess administrative privileges on the system and refrain from logging in as a Guest User or a non-admin.   
  2. Secure Browser (SB) Usage: 
    • It is essential to run SB exclusively in the native environment of your system. 
    • We strongly advise against running SB on a PC or Laptop connected to VPNs, secured networks with restrictions, strict firewalls, or corporate/institution networks with limitations. 
    • In some cases, you may need to disable ad-blockers, pop-up blockers, and, if necessary, temporarily deactivate antivirus software if SB installation is impeded.   
  3. Network Connection: 
    • Ensure a stable network connection with a download and upload bandwidth of more than 2Mbps and minimal latency.   
  4. Camera and Microphone Requirements: 
    • A functional camera/webcam and microphone are necessary to access the exam/test. 
    • You can use proper headphones with a microphone or utilize the built-in speakers and microphone of your system. 
    • By default, permission for camera and microphone access will be granted within the TSB browser. 

Please ensure compliance with these requirements to ensure a smooth and uninterrupted exam/test experience.

What if I do not have a QR Code scanner on my mobile? 

If you don’t have a QR Code scanner on your mobile camera, install an application with a QR code scanning feature. 

What devices are allowed as secondary cameras? 

Currently, only mobile phones can be used as secondary camera. 

Preflight Checks

Do I need to position myself in a specific way for the secondary camera to capture me? 

It is essential to position yourself correctly in front of the secondary camera so that your face, side view, and laptop/desktop screen are visible throughout the exam. Please keep the camera in landscape mode. Make sure you are well-lit and avoid obstructing the camera's view.  

How do I connect the secondary camera to my online proctoring session? 

To connect the secondary camera, follow the instructions shown on the screens. You will have to scan the QR Code shown on the instruction screen of your desktop/laptop from your secondary device. This will establish the connection between the secondary camera and the online proctoring system. 

During the Exam

Are there any specific guidelines or restrictions I need to follow during the exam due to the screen recording? 

Yes, it is crucial to thoroughly read and strictly follow the rules provided to you by your exam provider as well as any instructions displayed during the exam session. Compliance with these guidelines is essential to ensure the fairness, integrity, and successful completion of your examination. Failure to adhere to these rules may result in consequences, so it's important to be attentive and conscientious throughout the exam.

Can I disable or cover the secondary camera during the exam? 

No, it is not allowed to disable or cover the secondary camera. Doing so may be considered a violation of exam rules and could lead to penalties or disqualification. The camera must remain functional and unobstructed throughout the exam. 

Can the proctor control or manipulate the screen recording settings? 

No, the Proctor does not have any access or control over the screen recordings. The recorded content remains independent and untouched by proctoring personnel, ensuring the accuracy and integrity of the recorded material. Proctors are unable to manipulate or edit the screen recordings made during the session. 

Is there an option to temporarily disable or pause the screen recording? 

No, candidates do not have the option to pause or stop the screen recording once the exam begins. Attempting to forcibly disable or pause the screen recording is considered a violation of proctoring rules and regulations. It is essential to maintain continuous recording to ensure the integrity and fairness of the examination process. 

What happens if I stop the screen share? 

If you encounter an error while screen sharing, you will receive an error screen prompt. In this situation, it is advisable to resolve the issue by re-sharing your entire screen. This action is necessary to address any interruptions or problems that may have occurred during your initial screen sharing attempt and allows you to continue with the session seamlessly. 

What is the secondary camera used for during exams? 

The secondary camera, along with your laptop/desktop’s camera, monitors and records during an exam. It allows the proctor to observe your actions and ensure the integrity of the exam process. 

Technical and Network Connection Issues

What happens if both my primary and secondary devices get disconnected? 

If both your primary and secondary devices get disconnected, connect your primary device first and go through the pre-flight checks and connect the secondary camera. 

What if I experience technical issues with the secondary camera during the exam? 

If you encounter technical problems with the secondary camera during the exam, promptly inform the proctor or the technical support team. They will assist you in resolving the issue or provide alternative solutions to ensure a fair exam experience.

What should I do if the secondary camera gets disconnected during the exam? 

If the secondary camera disconnects during the exam, your primary device's screen will switch to a prompt or notification indicating the disconnection. Follow the instructions, including reconnecting the secondary camera by rescanning the QR code on your secondary device. Once the connection is reestablished, you can resume the exam. 

My microphone is not getting detected by the laptop, what do I do? 

To ensure optimal functionality, kindly disconnect your headphones and assess their operational status. It is not recommended to employ mobile earphones with your laptop. Please choose the right hardware from the drop-down menu to proceed accordingly. 

Why am I not able to hear anything when the audio plays back? 

This particular concern may arise under specific circumstances when the application fails to capture your voice accurately. To successfully complete the Hardware test stage, kindly follow the prescribed steps outlined below. 

  1. Adjust the system volume to a high level to ensure optimal audio recording. 
  2. During the Hardware Test, enunciate clearly into the microphone until you have finished articulating the designated phrase. 
  3. Ensure that there are no extraneous background noises present while undertaking the exam/test. Select a tranquil environment for accessing the exam/test. 
  4. Upon audio playback, confirm that your own voice is distinctly audible and adequately clear. 
  5. Additionally, ensure the closure of any multimedia applications such as Skype on your system before commencing the exam/test. 
  6. It is strongly recommended to refrain from using mobile earphones for voice recording. Instead, utilize the built-in microphone of the device or employ suitable headphones equipped with a microphone. 
  7. While recording responses, position the microphone at a minimum distance of 5 to 10 centimeters from the mouth to capture speech with utmost clarity. 

Why does it shows that the connection is untrusted? 

In a corporate network environment, it is possible to encounter this issue due to strict firewall restrictions. We kindly request that you communicate with your network administrator to address and resolve the matter. As an alternative solution, you can attempt to switch to a different internet network while attending the exam/test.
